As a Catholic education community, we believe every human being is dignified and made in the image and likeness of God. When we are in community with one another, in schools and other shared spaces, we encounter and respond to the sacredness in others. We have a moral purpose to understand and support students in their learning. We show preferential concern for those who are most in need and a sensitivity to people who are affected by injustice.
Support Services personnel, as part of Family of Schools and/or the Special Education and Support Service Department, are collaborating with educators, in particular, with the classroom teacher, to ensure that all students with diverse learning needs and/or who are at risk academically, physically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally, are supported through differentiated learning experiences that are informed by timely, appropriate, assessments, supports and interventions.
Support Services Staff in Dufferin-Peel may include:
- Child and Youth Care Practitioners
- Educational Resource Workers
- Psychology Staff
- Social Work Staff
- Speech/Language/Hearing/Vision Staff
- Other Para-Professional and/or Professional Staff
We endeavor to build the capacity of multi-disciplinary school teams and support of classroom practice where each participant may be an agent of hope and reflection of our gospel values, to nourish, to sustain and to grow every student’s ability to achieve acÂcording to God’s plan. Through our successes, our students will be better prepared to be a transforming presence in our schools and in our world.
