Who can register at 91̽�� schools?

Elementary school (Kindergarten-Grade 8) admissions are open to Catholic children and children of Catholic parents. Secondary school (Grades 9-12) admissions are under the provincially legislated Open Access and all students are admitted.

How to Register:

Contact our Admissions Department at 905-890-1221 or admissions@dpcdsb.org to determine eligibility to attend 91̽�� schools and to receive a Letter of Permission.
Register online using the Online Application System.
Receive email confirmation from the school acknowledging receipt of the online Application Form with further instructions regarding providing supporting documentation. Once supporting documentation has been received at the school office and verified, registration is approved, and the student is enrolled.
The school will schedule an appointment for students to attend the Newcomer Reception and Assessment Centre (NRAC) to complete assessments in literacy and numeracy. An NRAC Teacher will be available to administer both elementary and secondary assessments. Completion of the assessment is not a requirement to start school. Students will be able to start school and be assessed at the earliest assessment date and time.

In harmony with the 91̽�� School Board’s mission, and in partnership with schools, the Newcomer Reception and Assessment Centres provide families and students with a welcoming and supportive introduction to the Ontario school system. Through a clearly defined initial assessment process, the students’ abilities, talents and interests are recognized and shared, enabling a smoother entry into the school community.

Newcomer Reception & Assessment Centre Brochure (available in 10 languages)

What We Do:

Welcome newcomer students and their families
Introduce them to the Ontario elementary and secondary school system
Offer settlement support through Multicultural Settlement and Education Partnership (MSEP)
Assess English language proficiency and knowledge of mathematics
Suggest placement for secondary school students based on school transcripts, assessment results and age
Counsel secondary school students in choice of program/courses and post-secondary destinations
Send the assessment report to the school of registration

Who needs an assessment?

Any student who is new to Canada, entering the Ontario school system for the first time (Grade 1-12)
Any student from a French language school in Canada
Any student who is new to the Dufferin-Peel CDSB, without a Report Card, and who has been in the Ontario school system less than three months (e.g., transfers from other school boards)
Any student from the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, or Australia who has spent less than four years in an English language school system
Any student re-entering the Ontario school system, attended a foreign school system for at least one year
Any student who is new to the board without a Provincial Report Card from a Ministry approved private school or home school and who has been in the Ontario School System less than three months.

Student Transportation

Student Transportation of Peel Region (STOPR)
Student Transportation of Peel Region (STOPR) is a consortium, formed by agreement between the 91̽�� School Board and the Peel District School Board, for the purpose of providing a common administration of transportation services for students residing in the Region of Peel.

The STOPR website provides access to up-to-date information regarding delayed buses as well as bus cancellations due to inclement weather. This website also contains transportation policies, procedures, forms and frequently asked questions. Additionally, there is also a link from this website to businfo.stopr.ca which provides information as to school of attendance and eligibility for transportation. Wellington-Dufferin Student Transportation Services (STWDSTS)
Transportation of students in the County of Dufferin shall be provided by Wellington-Dufferin Student Transportation Services. STWDSTS is the consortium that has been established by the 91̽�� School Board and the Upper Grand District School Board, under the Ministry of Education’s mandate, to provide transportation services for students within Dufferin County. Stakeholder Responsibilities - City of Mississauga: Student Transportation and Students Walking to School
A Stakeholder's Responsibility Breakdown was developed by the Mississauga Traffic Safety Council, with input from the 91̽�� School Board and the Peel District School Board, and adopted by the City of Mississauga Council on October 12, 2011. The document illustrates jurisdictional responsibility related to student transportation and students walking to school in Mississauga.

Community Use of Schools

Schools are the heart of the community and a convenient venue for recreational sports, education programs, group and corporate activities. School facilities provide a suitable place to come together, learn new skills, become physically active and build strong and healthy communities. Community groups are encouraged to utilize our spaces.

Community Use of Schools (CUS) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education that supports access to school space outside of school hours for community groups. Our school facilities are available for community use from mid-September to June, Monday to Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sundayys from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Our schools are not open for community use during Christmas, March and Summer Breaks or Statutory Holidays. Community Use permits for the upcoming school year are not accepted until approximately May of each year (unless otherwise specified). During this peak time, permit applications are reviewed and approved as soon as we can with user groups being advised of their approved school sites and specific dates for each permit. Once the permit is approved, an email copy will be sent to the individual making the request.

Field Permits
Occasionally some elementary school sports fields are permitted for public use between May 15 – August 31 annually. Secondary school sports fields are not available for permits. Field permits do not include access to indoor school space, just the outdoor sports field. If you are interested in applying for a permit, please submit the Permit Application Form.

Summer Camps
Some schools can be used to host Summer Camp programs and applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis due to site availability pending Board programs and renovation projects. If you are interested in applying for a permit, please submit the Permit Application Form. Summer Camp permit application forms can be submitted starting February 1.

Rates Categories & Fees
Please review the Permit Fee schedule to understand the rental rates and fees. Those applying to the rate categories of Registered Non-Profit Youth and Senior Groups or Registered Non-Profit Non-Catholic Worship Groups are required to provide proof of their charitable or non-profit status. Documents providing proof of non-profit and or charitable status can be uploaded to your eBase permit account. These can be uploaded to the files section under your profile.

Permit Fees for the 2025-26 school year are effective for all permits with dates September 1, 2025 and onwards.

Insurance
All users of 91̽�� School Board (91̽��) facility permits must have liability insurance coverage for the activities to be held on 91̽�� facilities. Applicants are to submit their permit requests without proof of insurance. Once your permit request has been reviewed and is deemed to be approved, you will be asked by the Permits Department to provide a Certificate of Insurance within a specified time frame. Applicants without access to a liability insurance program may contact Instant Risk Coverage https://dpcdsb.instantriskcoverage.com/login, but are not obligated to do so. Certificates of Insurance must name the 91̽�� School Board as additional insured for a minimum two million dollars commercial general liability. Please email the certificate to dppermitrentals@dpcdsb.org or upload to your eBASE account.

Apply to Rent a Facility
You can rent a school facility using the online application system. If you are a new user you will need to create a new account or if you are an existing user, you can simply login using your previously created account. Please review the Frequently Asked Question document and the Permit Terms and Conditions to understand the roles and responsibilities of the Permit Holder and permitted activities. If you are unable to find the type of facility you are looking for through the online system, please submit a Permit Application Form and the Permits Department will follow-up with you on the request.

PowerSchool Cybersecurity Incident

On December 28, 2024, PowerSchool, a third-party service provider used by 91̽�� and many school boards across Canada and North America, became aware of a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to certain PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS) information. On January 7, 2025, PowerSchool notified us of the incident and that personal information of our students and educators may have been impacted. This webpage will serve as the primary source of information provided by 91̽�� to staff and community members. It will be updated regularly with new information as it becomes available. BUS CANCELLATIONS

During the winter months, inclement weather and/or poor road conditions may cause the disruption of bus transportation and regular school operations. If buses are cancelled in a certain zone/region, schools will remain open to staff and students.

STUDENT TRANSPORTATION ZONES

For student transportation purposes, schools located in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon (Peel Region), which are served by Student Transportation of Peel Region (STOPR), are divided into three transportation zones, ZONE 1, ZONE 2 and ZONE 3. Please refer to the Weather Zone Map and School Lists to find which zone your school is located within.

For student transportation purposes, 91̽��'s three schools located in Dufferin County (Orangeville), St. Andrew, St. Benedict, St. Peter Catholic Elementary Schools, are served by Service de Transport de Wellington-Dufferin Student Transportation Service (STWDSTS). Although R.F. Hall Catholic Secondary School is located in Peel Region, a significant segment of the school’s student population is transported from Dufferin County by STWDSTS.

NOTE: ALL R.F. HALL CATHOLIC SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENT TRANSPORTATION IS CANCELLED ON DAYS WHEN BUSES ARE CANCELLED IN EITHER STOPR ZONE 3 OR IN DUFFERIN COUNTY ONLY.

WHAT IF MY SCHOOL IS LOCATED IN A ZONE THAT IS OPEN BUT IS SERVICED BY BUSES THAT ORIGINATE IN, OR TRAVEL THROUGH, ANOTHER ZONE WHERE BUSES ARE CANCELLED?

This scenario would only occur at a few 91̽�� schools. Additional messaging will be sent to families of those schools.

Various child care services are available at many 91̽�� School Board schools. All programs are licensed by the provincial government and operated by autonomous child care agencies. Admission policies for all child care programs and the Board's schools are completely separate. Admittance to one does not automatically assure admittance to the other.

Child care centre operators should be contacted directly for information about their programs, including: fees, hours of operation, availability of space and fee subsidies.

Secondary School Registration

Secondary School Registration (Grades 9-12)

Under provincially legislated Open Access, students of both Separate (Catholic) School and Public School Supporters may attend Catholic secondary schools, subject to the 91̽�� School Board's admissions requirements.

Note:

If your child is already enrolled in a 91̽�� elementary school, they will be automatically enrolled in their local Catholic secondary school for Grade 9.
Cardinal Ambrozic, St. Franics Xavier and St. Marcellinus Catholic Secondary Schools have limited registration availability.

Completion of this form should only be done after parents/guardians have completed the online registration process. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION

The following documents are required to complete the registration process. All documents MUST be submitted in English and be originals:

Proof of age of the child
Birth Certificate or passport.

Updated immunization records
Report your child's immunizations to Region of Peel Public Health or Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health online and give the reference number to your child's school when registering.

Proof of Canadian citizenship
Birth certificate, passport or permanent resident status.

Proof of home address
Two of the following: property tax bill, current utility bill, electronic bill, real estate document or Government of Canada issued forms. On a case-by-case basis, consideration for any special circumstance shall go through the respective Superintendent or Admissions Officer. If the lease agreement is the sole documentation and not a standard lease form, it should be notarized/Commissioner of Oath.

Emergency rural address numbers
For identifying your property, if applicable.

Proof of English Separate School Support

Elementary School Registration (Kindergarten - Grade 8)

Elementary school admissions are open to Catholic children and children of Catholic parents. Kindergarten students must be at least 4 years of age by December 31 of the school year for which they are registering.

NOTICES:

All elementary schools are currently accepting new registrations for the 2024-25 and 2025-2026 school years, unless specified below.
To find out which Catholic school is in your area, use the Peel Region and Dufferin County Find My School tools or contact the Planning Department at 905-890-0708 ext. 24440.
If you are applying for admissions under 'Flex Boundaries', please contact the school office directly.
St. Sofia Catholic Elementary School is currently at capacity. All new students seeking enrolment will be be directed to their local attendance boundary 91̽�� elementary school for the 2024-25 school year except for new Junior Kindergarten (JK) students. A cap of 60 students has been set for new JK students registering for September 2025.

- an original baptismal certificate (for child and/or parent/guardian) from an Eastern Catholic Church (St. Sofia).

Mental Health and Well-Being Guiding Framework (2025-2028)
Global events over the past few years have affected the daily lives of all students and families, creating a need for 91̽�� to be responsive to student well-being. The 91̽�� approach to mental health and well-being is faith-based, inspired by scripture, and rooted in human dignity. In line with Catholic Social Teaching, there is preferential concern for those most in need. The 2025-2028 Mental Health and Well-Being Guiding Framework shows how 91̽�� will respond to students' needs to be validated, motivated, and feel a sense of belonging. Well-being strategies are positioned as the foundational work of all staff to welcome and include students, to understand them, to promote mentally healthy habits, and create a supportive learning environment in which all students can thrive. The Mental Health and Well-Being Guiding Framework builds on the previous Guiding Framework, is an extension of the Board's Multi-Year Strategic Plan, a reflection of student voice, and an articulation of the plan to help each student excel. "The God of all grace will restore, support, strengthen, and establish you" (1 Peter 5:10)

Accompanying the Mental Health and Well-Being Guiding Framework is 91̽��'s 2025-2026 Mental Health and Addictions Annual Action Plan. Developed yearly, this plan outlines the system priorities and key actions for how staff will promote and mental health and well-being and respond to student, family, and caregiver needs.

Direction of School Support

It is more important than ever to stand together in support of publicly funded Catholic education. You can do this by designating your support to the Catholic School System on your municipal property tax designation.

Benefits of directing your tax support to the Separate (Catholic) School System:

Your children may attend Catholic elementary schools.
You can vote for Catholic School Trustees in municipal elections.
You demonstrate your support for Catholic education.

How to Register or Update Your Designation:

Visit Register to Vote to check the accuracy of your voter information.
Visit mpac.ca/schoolsupport to verify or change your school support designation.
Or, contact the 91̽�� Admissions Department at admissions@dpcdsb.org

Can a non-Catholic support Catholic Schools?
You can designate your support to the English Separate (Catholic) School System if you are Catholic and own or lease property in the 91̽�� catchment area. If a homeowner is non-Catholic, they must support the public school system and are eligible to vote for a public school trustee. A Separate School Support Lease form allows people who own or rent a property to designate school support to the Separate School Board when one of the owners or tenants is non-Catholic. The Separate School Lease Agreement allows the Catholic joint owner or tenant the right to designate the school support for the non-Catholic. Otherwise, the English-Public designation applies as per the Assessment Act.

Will my English Separate School support designation change if I move?
If you purchase a new home or if you are a tenant, your Catholic school support designation does not follow you. As soon as any change is made to your address, your school support designation is defaulted to English-Public. You must fill out a new Application for Direction of School Support form to change your school support to English Separate.

We do not have children attending school. Do we need to direct our school support?
Yes. Direction of school support should be made even if you do not have children attending school. As a Catholic ratepayer, your support helps fund Catholic education and entitles you to vote for Catholic school trustees in municipal elections. Your support plays an important role in the future of Catholic education.

Separate School Lease Agreement Form

A Separate School Lease Agreement is an additional document required by the government, which allows people, jointly responsible for the payment of property taxes, either directly through ownership or indirectly through the payment of rent, one of whom is non-Catholic, to direct school support to the Catholic system.
